In the field and in the classroom
The crew, the interns, and the educators
Alongside our staff, a Washington Conservation Corps crew, a group of interns, and a summer team of camp educators work at restoration sites, camps, and classrooms across Whatcom County.
Washington Conservation Corps Crew
NSEA shares a Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) crew with Whatcom County Public Works. Crew members serve outdoors, rain or shine, restoring instream habitat, installing native plants, removing invasive species, building and improving trails, and more across Washington’s public lands.
Future Leaders of Whatcom Waters interns
Each year a passionate, hard-working group of education interns and stream stewards interns joins NSEA through our Future Leaders of Whatcom Waters (FLOW) Internship Program. Education interns help lead Students for Salmon field trips, stream stewards interns help lead Saturday work parties, and both gain hands-on experience in stream restoration, environmental education, and community outreach.
Camp Educators
Every summer, NSEA hires a passionate, energetic team of Camp Educators to help lead our Camp Keystone program.

Join our Board of Directors!
NSEA’s board is an engaged working board. As a board member you will attend monthly board and committee meetings (except August and December), one annual retreat, and one annual community celebration. You will commit to the role for at least three years and take part in fundraising, including an annual gift at a level that is meaningful to you. In return, we make sure you have the information and tools you need to stand as a vocal and visible ambassador for our work.
Open positions are generally filled in the fall, and the Board Member Development Committee reviews interest forms as they come in.
